Craftsmanship & Finishes

The details that
define a Janecek home.

A custom home isn't a floorplan. It's the stone you pass each morning, the cabinetry you live with for thirty years, the light that falls across your kitchen at five o'clock. This is what we obsess over.

Our Philosophy

We don't sell floorplans.
We build homes.

A floorplan is a starting point, a set of relationships between rooms. The actual home is everything that happens after: the masonry that wraps the entry, the way the kitchen island is leveled to within a hair, the cabinetry hardware sourced from a foundry instead of a catalog.

Over three decades, we've assembled a roster of local craftsmen (masons, cabinet makers, tile setters, finish carpenters) who build with us, year after year. This is where the Janecek standard actually lives. Not on paper. In the work.

"The plan is a starting point. The craftsmanship is what makes it a home you'll want to live in for thirty years."

A Note From the Janecek Team
The Janecek Standards

The details we insist on,
even when nobody asks.

01

Local craftsmen, decade-long relationships

Every Janecek home is built by the same masons, cabinet makers, tile setters, and finish carpenters who've been with us for years. They know our standards because they helped set them.

02

Cabinetry built to your taste

Solid hardwoods (rift-cut white oak, walnut, maple) are always on the table, but they're just one option. We build with premium lines like SALT and other quality cabinetmakers, so you can choose the look, finish, and door style you love, all with dovetail drawers and soft-close hardware sourced from foundries, not catalogs.

03

Natural stone, properly sealed

Quartzite, limestone, marble, and travertine. All natural, all sealed, all maintained. We help you choose pieces with the figure you'll still love in twenty years.

04

Layered, dimmable lighting

Every room is designed with at least three lighting layers (ambient, task, and accent), all dimmable, all switched intuitively. Light is the most important material in a house, and we treat it that way.

05

Indoor / outdoor continuity

In the desert, your outdoor living is half your home. We design covered patios, outdoor kitchens, and pool decks as fully equipped extensions of the interior, not afterthoughts.

06

Architectural restraint

We don't chase trends. The homes we build today should look just as right in 2050. That means clean lines, honest materials, and details that whisper rather than shout.
